Having traveled extensively in Africa and Asia, I have spent countless hours observing elephants in their natural habitats. Valerie's painting, "Safe in Her Shadow", evokes vivid memories of baby elephants at play, frolicking, indulging in mischief, being corrected by their elders, and then finding comfort in the embrace of their mothers.
